Looking Back

Well, looking at my speeches i realized i did pretty well; but i could have done so much better. The way i dressed in my Persuasive speech made it look like i wasn't prepared at all. I need to have better audience contact and i need to speak louder and be more prepared rather than hide myself. All my speeches were pretty good, but i thought i could have been myself more; i tend to be scared of talking in front of people when i'm needing too, but i can be myself when i'm not pressured to do so. :) My favorite speech was the How-To; i liked creating stuff that i liked, and i also enjoyed eating the wonderful food!

Speech Reflection

On my speech i chose the topic tie-dye; I chose it mainly because i love being creative and doing my own thing. It's something i can do in my spare time and it doesn't take long to do. i thought i did pretty well stand up in front of the class and i liked the idea of picking our own topic instead of having to do something we don't like. I thought i took my time, and explained everything clearly. I broke things down step by step, and read instructions very well. I thought by bringing in my materials it'd work a lot better, turns out i was right!

I thought during my speech i was stuttering to much, and i said whatever way too much! I could have slowed things down a little bit more and looked up at my audience but i get to nervous standing up there and having all eyes on me. It still is nerve racking but if i don't think about it, i start to be myself and be more calm and outspoken.

Informative Speech

In our english class we've picked a topic of our choice to research more about, and had to make a visual aid for our class to see. I chose to pick behind hip-hop, it was a pretty hard topic to discuss mainly because alot of people really don't understand and it's hard for me to actually break it down for others. I actually liked choosing our own topics because we got to pick something we're interested in. I thought this was alot more fun than the brown bag speech, picking things we're interested in makes everything so much better! I thought i could do alot more better in explaining myself, and by watching my video i should have been more detailed and broke it down piece by piece. Other than that, I thought i did really well.

Brown Bag Speech Evaluation...

Oh my word; Doing this speech wasn't really all that fun because i didn't feel confident at all, i was a little nervous but i mean i speak in front of people all the time. I wasn't at all excited about this, i mean i don't like having a big group of people have their eyes on me....Overall I thought I was pretty good besides the point of my body language, i was slanted over a bit and it just didn't look like i was prepared at all. My voice on camera didn't seem that loud, i thought i was pretty loud but i was shakin' a bit and my voice was cracking. This was actually a good opportunity for people getting to know each other a little bit more, i mean mostly everyone judges someone by the clique their in, the clothing they wear, the things they say... but this really got people wondering about yourself.. I've learned what i should do the next time we have a speech.

Introduction

My names Brittney Mofford, I'm 16 years old and I'm a junior. I'm an outgoing energetic type, i love playing volleyball and doing things outdoors. I'm very outspoken and will usually say anything that's on my mind, I'm known as the "Random Chick". I talk way too much, which get's me in trouble. I live life too the fullest almost every day, i believe you shouldn't regret anything you've done. You only life once, and you should just learn from your own mistakes. I have 1 little sister whose name is Mariah, she attends Nagel and is in the 8th grade. People say she looks a lot like me, but i really don't see it. I live with my mom whose name is Angel, she's 34 years old and is very outspoken as well. I have 3 dogs whose names are Chester, Bobby, and Angel, they all have a mixture of pug in them. In my free time i love to go shopping, I'm into buying new shoes and a whole bunch of clothes. I also love hanging out with my boyfriend, I'm usually with him 24/7 except for when I'm in school. We've been together almost a year on Valentine's Day; which is so crazy. His name is James, he's 17 and he's home-schooled. Well, there's a little bit about myself.
